The Cardiovascular Research Foundation is an academically focused nonprofit organization, which develops and promotes the latest advancements in the treatment of heart disease. The CRF is dedicated to improving the survival and quality of life for people with cardiovascular disease through research and education.
The nonprofit organization leased the 8th and 9th floors of 1700 Broadway located between West 53rd and 54th Streets for a total of 15 years. The new location serves as the organization’s main headquarters and allows for extra space for amenities and an expansion of the organization’s in-house television studio.
J.T. Magen was hired to perform construction management services for the project and brought on board as a pre-construction consultant to ensure the project could be completed on schedule and within budget. During this time J.T. Magen verified and quantified the full scope of the project, developed several budgets with the client and their consultants, and presented value engineering options that kept the project within the established budget without sacrificing the design intent.
During the construction phase J.T. Magen was responsible for overseeing the build out and coordination of 48,000 square feet of offices, conference rooms, a TV studio, multimedia studio, stair upgrade, data center, pantries, and other office support facilities.
The J.T. Magen team was available to the client and consultants on an as needed basis to assist in the evaluation of materials, systems, life cycle costs, and value added alternatives. Congratulations to everyone involved on a job well done.
