Apply technical knowledge of building and engineering principles and methodologies to prepare time, cost and labor estimates under the close supervision of a Senior Estimator. Prepare cost summaries for construction projects. Assist the Senior Estimator in analyzing bids and consulting with subcontractors and vendors of needed materials to formulate estimates for the construction projects and to resolve any issues related to these projects. Issue comprehensive bid packages and solicit bids from approved subcontractors. Undertake relevant feasibility studies, value engineering and life-cycle costing utilizing scientific principles and methods under the close supervision of a Senior Estimator. Conduct analysis of architects’ drawings, blueprints and specifications under the guidance of a Senior Estimator. Visit construction sites to gather information on topography, drainage and access to utilities and services. Perform quantity surveys to determine the amount of labor and materials required for the projects, i.e., estimates of dimensions, unit numbers, equipment needs and crew size. Advise client and design team of cost implications of various design proposals. Perform settlement and close-out of all subcontract accounts upon project completion.

 

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering;
6 months of experience as Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Architectural Technician;
6 months of experience preparing time, cost and labor estimations, and creating and reviewing plans and construction drawings;
6 months of experience with AutoCAD, Excel and Word.
